underbrush. A quick scan of the ground dispelled this momentary
interruption and the present day adventure was again resumed. We
re-discovered an important part of local history this day as we
finished tracing the faint tell-tale signs of the “Lost Causeway” across
the narrow island to the east, separating the Thompson and
Strickland Creeks and then identifying the landing on the mainland.
