In 1829 Emanuel Ormond died of “consumption” in St. Augustine and
was buried there. A few months later James Ormond II died after
much suffering and was buried on the plantation by his son, James
Ormond III. His grave can be seen north of Ormond Beach on the Old
Dixie Highway at the Ormond Tomb State Park.

The grave is located four and a half miles north of Tomoka State Park
and the inscription on the tombstone reads:
