Mary and the Babe in Egypt The
mother, listening to the voices
which tell the future of the
child, cuddles him to her with
one hand, while with the other
s h e t r i e s , u n c o n sciously, to shield him
from the evils of the future. F r o m t h e n
till now, from before her time till
the end of the future, was
always and will ever be the
same mother care, mother love, be
ever p r e s e n t m a n i f e s t a t i o n o f
the great principle of nature
which lets us live. The Babe
i n s a f e t y sleeps.
