FEAR AND LIFE
From the hand of ignorance
shutting out the light uncoils a
grey mist, indefinite and yet
cons t r i c t i n g a s a s e r p e n t . I t i s
Fear, Arch Enemy of Life. Fear is
a condition foreign to the natural
scheme, a malignant growth
d u e t o l a c k o f knowledge and
doomed to pass away as Man
acquires a fuller understanding of
Nature and her laws.
No. 22
WHAT IS MAN?
We cannot see him as many
do, a worm with a human head.
We see him almost covered and
drifted over l the sands of time,
the skin dried and shrunken about
the bones; around him crumbling and
broken is his work; the things he
made, his tools, the image of his
God; the grey of oblivion drifting,
drifting over all that could be claimed
by earthly mortality, but from this
ruin rises the true man, the Spirit on
wings of light to be eternal. It is the
promise, rainbow-like above the
grave. The Spirit of us cannot die
