Possibly the best way to describe the Santa Lucia Plantation is in
John Anderson's own words. John and his business partner Joseph
Price, published a brochure just after the turn of the century titled,
"The Walks, Drives and Sails of ORMOND". In the brochure they
describe many scenic outings in the area of the Hotel Ormond and
the Bretton Inn on the beach. One of the excursions described is the
Santa Lucia Plantation. The information presented here is taken from
the original brochure which has deteriorated beyond reproduction
use. I have taken author’s license to add a few clarifications in the
brochure verbiage, keeping in mind the intent to keep this book as
historically accurate as possible.
