duty, such unstinted affection for his friends, such a whole-
souled appreciation of the wants and needs of others and such
swift and intelligent supplying of those needs. It seems to me
that not only Portland and Florida and his own Mountains will
miss him, but that the world itself is poorer for the going away
of such a man. I hope he knows what tender love and what deep
