America at a time when a new nation was just developing and settled
in Watertown, Maine, in the late 1600’s. The original land owned by

Most of the early Anderson family members were interred at the
Anderson Cemetery (also known as the Anderson - Smith Cemetery)
located on the original family farmland in Windham, Maine. The
cemetery is now located at the junction of the Anderson Road and
River Road in Windham, Maine, due to modern road routing and
improvements.

The Anderson name has been represented by numerous generational
branches in various parts of America since the first settlement. The
date of the 1st generation settlement in America of John1 Anderson
