more than fifty years. He spent many winters in Florida and grew to love
the State very much - especially it’s East Coast which he visited
frequently. The Fraser’s observed that there were few art galleries in this
part of the country as compared with northern cities and decided that
some Florida city would eventually have his series of paintings. He hoped
that one of the cities on the East Coast of Florida along U. S. Highway 1
would manifest an interest in permanently displaying his paintings.

This inspiring collection of paintings was exhibited in a number of
Florida cities at various times as part of the entertainment program
provided for the thousands of winter visitors who come to Florida each
year. By special request they were displayed in the Halifax Area two years
in succession once in New Smyrna Beach, twice in Daytona Beach and
once in the Hotel Ormond in Ormond Beach, this last one being a semi-
formal affair in the evening at which the paintings were shown on an
easel one at a time with Mr. Fraser giving a brief talk about each
painting.

Himself a WWI and WWII veteran, Mr. Fraser was willing to make an
outright gift of this series of 56 paintings as a War Memorial to a Florida
East Coast city. His requirements were that the city selected would
