The Augustine Evening Record of February 20, 1911,
after outlining Mr. Anderson's invaluable and extensive work
for Florida, says, "It is a sad blow to the people of St. John's
and Volusia Counties. Since pioneer days he had been
known and loved by many residents along the Halifax River.
Now that he has gone there will be many an aching heart, for
he occupied a place in the affections and esteem of the
people with whom he came in contact that the passing of years
will not allow others to fill."
